Ahmanson Theatre Rules

Guests attending a show at the Ahmanson Theatre are expected to comply with the venue’s rules and regulations at all times. On entry, you may find security checks, including metal detectors, manual inspections, and bag screenings. If you leave and return to the venue, you will have to pass through security again.

bag policy

All bags are checked on entry to the Ahmanson Theatre. Bringing a clear bag may help you pass security faster, although it will still be checked. Larger bags — above the dimensions of 16.75” x 13” x 8.5” — may be refused entry.

dress code

Guests are advised that, although there is no standard dress code for Ahmanson Theatre, shirts and shoes are always required. Dress attire anywhere from business casual to formal is recommended, depending on the performance or event that you are attending.

For those wishing to store items, a complimentary coat check is available at Ahmanson Theatre.

camera policy

No cameras are allowed in Ahmanson Theatre. Touring acts, shows and performers will often request this, to avoid unsolicited capturing of their performances.

food & drink

It is permitted to enjoy food and drinks in the lobby areas of Ahmanson Theatre, but guests are kindly asked not to bring these items into the theater auditorium.

Prohibited items

The list of prohibited items at the Ahmanson Theatre includes, but is not limited to, the following:

• Aerosol cans
• Any smoking equipment
• Any glass items
• Any kind of drugs, narcotics, or illegal substances
• Bags larger than permitted size (16.75” x 13” x 8.5”)
• Costumes that obscure the wearer’s identity
• Explosives and fireworks
• Large overcoats
• Lighters and matches
• Large umbrellas
• Outside alcoholic beverages
• Selfie sticks
• Weapons in any form.

Ticket policy

Center Theatre Group has made all shows at the Ahmanson Theatre paperless. This means digital tickets will be used, whether delivered by email or mobile app.

Smoking policy

As an indoor venue, no smoking or vaping is allowed at the Ahmanson Theatre. At some shows, there may be designated exterior smoking areas — please consult event staff on the day.

child policy

Some shows at the Ahmanson Theatre may be selected as family shows. These welcome children of all ages, with parental supervision. At the majority of other shows, children should be four years old at minimum, with their own ticket and seat.

animals policy

ADA service animals are allowed to accompany their owners at the Ahmanson Theatre. Unfortunately, pets and emotional support animals are not permitted.
